tamatebaco

Edition of 30

¥132,000

A box for the things that matter.

tamatebaco is cut, one at a time, from a solid block of metal in a small factory in Sumida, Tokyo. The skill built over decades of making precision machine parts and measuring tools, now turned to making a beautiful box.

The body is finished in black, with the shine of the bare metal left on the edges. Where the lid meets the body, a line of cut metal glows quietly.

The name comes from the tamatebako of the old tale of Urashima Tarō — the special box in the story, carried home holding something precious.

Close the lid and feel the weight and response that only metal gives. Every time you touch it, there is the texture that comes from being cut from solid.

A ring, a necklace, a watch, a key. What you keep inside is yours to decide.

The one thing that matters.

An edition of 30. Each is engraved with its serial number and delivered with a certificate.
